The takaful and insurance industry in Brunei comprises 11 licensed companies, including five life/family takaful operators and six general insurance/takaful operators. The market also has one registered insurance broker and 489 agents, with 239 specialising in general insurance/takaful and 250 in life insurance/family takaful. Currently, there are no reinsurers or retakaful operators in the market.
