Abstract Submission Guideline
The abstract should be no longer than 500 words. The abstract should briefly introduce the research topic, identify the research problem and/or objectives, outline the methodological approach used or planned to address the research problem, and summarise the main or expected findings and policy implications.
All submitted abstracts will undergo a peer-review process conducted by the Review Committee.

Submission
- Authors whose abstracts are accepted will be invited to submit a full paper for review.
- All abstracts and full papers submitted to the BDIF Secretariat shall be subject to a review process conducted by the Review Committee.
- The Review Committee reserves the right to accept, accept with conditions, or decline any submissions.
- Papers must not exceed 8,000 words, including references.
- Authors are required to include 3 - 5 keywords indicating the relevant research stream when completing the submission form.
- Papers must be submitted in Microsoft Word format.
- Papers must follow the APA referencing style and be thoroughly proofread prior to submission.
- Submissions must be original, not previously published, and not under review or consideration elsewhere.
- Both the abstract and the full paper must be written in English.
Note: Certificates will only be granted to the main authors.
Registration and Fees
- At least one author of each full paper submission must be registered for the conference for the paper to be scheduled for presentation.
- Registration fees cover conference attendance and presentation.
- Registration fees are applicable upon notification of acceptance of abstract and/or submission of full papers.
- Each registration permits the presentation of one paper unless otherwise approved by the organisers.
Submission Review
- Based on the review outcome, selected papers will be identified as good papers, with a further subset recognised as best papers.
- Only good and best papers will be published in the special edition journal, which will be launched at the Conference.
- Participation in the conference proceedings does not guarantee publication in the special edition journal.
Presentation Requirements
- At least one registered author must attend and present the paper in person in Brunei Darussalam at the conference.
- Where a paper is shortlisted as a good or best paper, the author undertakes to fulfil the in-person presentation requirement and in the event that an author is unable to attend due to reasonable circumstances, an alternative arrangement will be agreed with the BDIF Secretariat.
- Failure to present in person may result in exclusion from the conference programme, conference proceedings, and any related publications, notwithstanding the paper’s review outcome.
Rights of the Organisers
- The BDIF Secretariat reserves the right, at its reasonable discretion, to reject or exclude any submission that does not comply with the stated criteria, requirements, or these Terms and Conditions.
- The BDIF Secretariat reserve the right to make changes to the conference programme, the date and schedule, or arrangements where necessary.
- Any matters not expressly covered in these Terms and Conditions shall be determined by the BDIF Secretariat.
